Preventative Dental Care

Regular preventive dental care is the best way to prevent more serious dental problems as well as to reduce the risks to your general systemic health. We perform comprehensive examinations utilizing digital x-rays, which reduce radiation exposure by approximately 75% as compared to standard dental x-ray film.  A complete periodontal (gum) and occlusal (bite relationship) examination as well as oral cancer screening is also performed.

Dental Cleanings

Dental prophylaxis or cleaning: Regular dental cleanings and evaluations are one of the best ways to prevent more serious and expensive problems.  The recommended frequency for routine preventive and maintenance care is individually determined for each person.  Home care instructions are reviewed and special cleaning aids may be given to help optimize your oral health.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride is often used to help strengthen teeth to reduce decay for both children and adults.  It can also help to significantly reduce tooth sensitivity.  We utilize both in office and take home fluoride treatments.

Dental Sealants for Children

Dental sealants are a plastic coating that is bonded to the biting surface of back teeth to protect or seal off the deep pits and grooves that are so susceptible to getting cavities.  These are ideally placed soon after the permanent molars erupt into the mouth-at about six and twelve years of age.
